Lauren has a background in operations, primarily in the private sectors, ranging from tech to venture capital. She moved to Washington, DC to pursue my master’s degree in public policy from American University in 2018. Prior to that, she worked in education as an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) educator and higher education administrator. She served in AmeriCorps in an education centered non-profit, City Year, in 2016 in Boston. She also taught English in Moscow, Russia for 2 years with Education First starting in 2014. Originally, she is from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Being from a remote island, she learned at a very young age the need for community driven organization which has fueled her passion for public service.
