Seattle and its neighbors were where the Fight for $15 first got off the ground. Now, the City Council has passed a comprehensive fair workweek law advanced by CPD’s Fair Workweek Initiative. San Francisco is the only other city in the country with a similar law, but New York is already making moves in a similar direction, with Mayor Bill De Blasio calling for protections for fast-food workers.
