Welcoming the Newest Members of the DA Team

Ambar Canales, Roger Kim and Lauren Hill.

The DA is thrilled to welcome three new staffers to our DC office.

Roger Kim has joined the DA as the Senior Strategy and Planning Officer (Climate) after working for the mayor of San Francisco, where he led the development and implementation of city policies and programs on climate change, energy, water, parks and open space, and the environment. Prior to joining the mayor’s office, Roger ran the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), a CA-based organizing group that runs campaigns on issues pertaining to climate change and environmental justice.

Lauren Hill, our new Director of Partner Services, has over 10 years of progressive experience in the nonprofit and public sector. Prior to joining the DA, she worked for ZERO TO THREE as the Senior Development Manager, where she led fundraising efforts to ensure that all babies and toddlers have a strong start in life. Throughout her career, she has supported her interests in social justice and creating an inclusive society, by working for organizations like the Kirwan Institute and the Poverty and Race Research Action Council.

Ambar Canales, who will start as Partner Services Associate in January, previously worked as a Scheduler to Congressman Don Beyer (VA-08). During her time on the Hill, she worked on issues she’s passionate about; immigration, social services, education and labor. She also worked with at-risk Latino youth, helping facilitate leadership clubs in Spanish and English for a non-profit in South Florida.
