Roger Kim is Senior Advisor at the Democracy Alliance, where he leads the Democracy Alliance’s strategy on climate change and directs the Climate Equity Action Fund.
Roger brings extensive experience working in the public, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors on environmental and social justice issues. He is Executive Director of the Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund, a philanthropic fund focused on building community-based power on climate change in communities of color. Previously, Roger was Senior Advisor to the Mayor of San Francisco where he was responsible for issues related to climate change, energy, and the environment, and also served on the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. As Executive Director of the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN), he led community-driven campaigns resulting in billions of dollars of investments to implement climate solutions in California’s most disadvantaged neighborhoods and founded APEN Action to educate and mobilize Asian American voters in California. Roger also worked for the San Francisco Foundation, Global Green USA, and currently serves on the board of directors of the League of Conservation Voters and Climate Mayors. Among his honors include the Public Health Institute’s Change Champion Award and the Gerbode Foundation Fellowship.
