Becca Guerra

Director, New American Majority Funds

Becca Guerra, formerly with Civitas Public Affairs Group, will join the team as the Director of the New American Majority Funds (NAM Funds). Becca worked with Civitas’ clients on a range of issues, notably: women of color power building with a focus on the 2020 Democratic primary; and reproductive health, rights and justice.  Her work included direct support to clients including the development of strategic program plans, assistance with program implementation, planning of event logistics, research and data assessment, and meeting facilitation.  She also provided extensive electoral and programmatic assessments as well as field support for clients.

Prior to joining Civitas, Becca served as the Executive Director of the Florida 501(c)(3) Civic Engagement Table, Florida’s affiliate of State Voices, leading the state’s voter registration and civic engagement programs.  She has served in other roles at ProGeorgia, America Votes Florida, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and the Democratic parties of New Mexico and Florida.

Becca’s work has focused extensively on people of color and building power at the local and state level. Becca earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville. A fan of spreadsheets, phone banking, and colored markers, she currently resides on Roosevelt Island in New York City.
