Formed after the 2016 Election, 5 Calls is issue-driven advocacy at the federal and local level based on the belief that phone calls in sufficient number matter. 5 Calls seeks to increase political participation by making advocacy easier. Supported by a network of volunteer researchers, 5 Calls conducts the research and rigorous data review for each issue, determining which elected officials are most influential, collecting phone numbers for those offices, and writing scripts that clearly articulate a progressive position. To date, 5 Calls has generated over 2.3 million calls on issues such as health care, taxes, immigration, and key federal appointments.
