Run for Something works to respond to a systemic problem within the progressive movement: the failure to create a diverse talent pipeline for elected office. The organization helps address the barriers that newcomers and diverse players face when entering politics, providing hands-on coaching, a team of campaign experts, and donor commitments. Since 2017, Run for Something recruited more than 10,000 millennials who want to run for local office. Hundreds are already on the ballot, and Run for Something endorsed 72 candidates across 14 states in 2017, with another three dozen on the slate for 2018.
