#Resist formed after the 2016 Election on the commonly known “Meetup” platform, which is an open source, online to offline meeting service. #Resist is a demonstration of distributed leadership advancing the fight to save our democracy. #Resist seeks to convene its more than 200,000 online members face-to-face and help them take action around locally-selected “resistance” issues. More than 1,000 volunteers coordinate the more than 1,000 local/online Meetup groups. #Resist has true national reach, with at least one group in every U.S. Congressional District. Many of the groups operate in space often underserved by progressives in elected office.
